Progress on the bathrooms

Well, our bathroom project is moving along, slowly but surely.  This is the part of construction that can be the hardest.  There is dust everywhere from the demolition and jackhammering.  Walls are exposed.  Everything looks dirty and it doesn't look much like a bathroom.  But we are about to turn a corner soon.  Here is the new half bath going from open walls to being sheetrocked in:

And here is the progression of the new pocket door in the full bath:

And the tub area:

The last few weeks have been spent doing the unrewarding things like electrical work, adding bracing to support the sheetrock and new walls, repositioning the insulation in the attic, and hanging sheetrock.  Now our contractor will come to tape and float the rooms as well as texture.  Then we can prime and paint the rooms.  We are now getting into things that have a big impact for less time.  While we are waiting on the contractor I went ahead and waterproofed the tub and started the tiling:

Once I finish the tub tile, the only big things left are painting, laying floor tile, and baseboards in both rooms.  I also have to get the antique buffet converted to a vanity by waterproofing the top.  Then the plumbers will come in to do the install of the rest of the big stuff.  Hopefully my next post will be pictures of the almost complete bathrooms!

I could not get this picture to delete, not sure why...
